As part of my role, I have completed an ISO 27701 Lead Auditor Training Course, which has given me the skills needed to carry out audits, as well as implement and maintain a Privacy Information Management System (PIMS) in compliance with international requirements established by ISO. I now understand ISO 27701 controls, how they integrate with ISO 27001, conducting a risk assessment, audit planning and preparing evidence, producing audit reports, and taking corrective action. The course helped to develop my ability to apply my knowledge to practical application through the use of case studies, the development of a range of audit checklists, the completion of role-plays and the establishment of a supportive environment for skills development. The information and skills gathered as part of this course will add credibility to me and assist in my career progress within an organisation by allowing organisations to perform effective privacy audits on both data controllers and data processors.
