Situated on the serene banks of the Ganga in Haridwar, the Shree Krishnayan Sewa Foundation has emerged as a pivotal institution in promoting and preserving the practice of Godan. With a commitment to Gauraksha (cow protection), the foundation shelters over 21,000 desi cows and bulls, many rescued from dire circumstances. These animals are provided with care, nourishment, and a peaceful environment to live out their lives with dignity.
The foundation's approach to Godan is deeply rooted in Vedic traditions. Donated cows are entrusted to saints and ashrams, where their milk serves spiritual practitioners. Importantly, when these cows cease to produce milk, they are not discarded; instead, they continue to reside in the foundation's Gaushala, receiving care and respect until their natural end.
